Who are they? I've heard of Knight's Templar but never even heard a whisper of the others. And what's with them having gold and silver borders around their cape. Did I miss something? Because in my dimension of the universe EvIL won both of the competitions in which those capes were rewarded...

You're right, I was wrong.
That being said, how many pve players actually cap that many elites on one toon, and wtf would you? Across my 4 pve characters I have close to 7M experience, and probably dont have that many elites on all 4 combined.
I really dont think capping elites is a measure of pve success in any way shape or form.

Maybe I didn't take into account guilds that are strong in PvE. But if these are PvE strong guilds where are you hearing about them?

Quoted from gamespot.com:
GS: Aside from the new war mode, what are some of the other new things that you will be able to do in Factions? We understand that there are multiteam cooperative missions, as well as new challenge missions. Then there are guild scrimmages, as well?
EF: Yes, we added guild scrimmages, which can be initiated by any member of a guild when they are in their guild hall. This gives guilds the ability to practice one-on-one, eight-on-eight, or even one-on-eight combat if they choose. This is also a pretty good example of the sort of upgrades that affect all chapters of the game. Anyone playing Guild Wars whose guild has a guild hall will be able to take advantage of guild scrimmages regardless of whether they buy Factions.
ONE ON ONE!!! FINALLY!!! WOOHOO!! THANK YOU ANET, FOR LISTENING TO THE COMMUNITY!!!

I wonder if this is a change across the board or something exclusive to Factions...

But I'm wondering where they're getting these borders. O.o So far the only way to get those is from the world gvg competitions. So if they're in the factions beta, would this mean that this is yet another PvE reward? Guild that control the best towns from each alliance get the borders? It would be nice if this was the case.
Confirmations? Denials? Further speculations anyone?!?

well its something thats challangeing, and its definitly not something any "n00b" could do.
that being said, they said you can only show off one title at a time, so its not like you have to worry about them all. its really stuff for you to do when bored. look at the reqs for some of them 1000 missions? you can tell they want to have each rank be a true accomplishment, cause its no fun if everyone has it.

Awesome! I was waiting for something like this since September. Looks like I'll be the Tyrian Explorer title.
Oh and the guilds that were shown in the pictures, Zealous of Shiverpeaks [ZoS] have been in the game for a long time since beta I think and they have some of the Anet developers in that guild.

The guilds shown in the picture have a strong developer presence, so either they have rewarded themselves for their contributions to the game, or they were testing the cape borders, or there was a developer championship and the rewards were the same. Take your pick

the whole "We're improving the quality of all rare (gold) and uncommon (purple) items significantly." Scares me... our rares are gonna be trash.

Yay! I'll be able to buy weapons now! I think this quality buff is geared more towards watering down the inflation of weapon mods caused by the "evil 55s", not to be confused with all of us perfectly innocent 55ers , in the international districts. They've countered this mod buff by adding so many different new weapon types. Most assuredly many of them will be quite rare, probably many more rare skins than they have in prophecies. So dun worry about not being able to sell the super weapons. You'll probably still be able to make just as much profit off them as you do off rare skins in Tyria. If not more O.o

lol, really now, I have to get back to unlocking every skill and capturing every elite skills! waaah...
Arena.Net!!!!!! GOOD WORK!! It's about time to reward the PvE characters as well ^_^
At least for us we are into unlocking every fog in the map and unlocking every skill, every rune, every items in the game, there are rewards now. Though it may be as simple as "titles", that's a very good start
Who knows, Campaign 3, we will get more tangible rewards in-game than just titles hehe
Good work ANet!

I personally think that this is pretty awsome. that interview has rekindled my hopes that faction will be as awsome as they say it will. If nothing else, at least it gives me a bit more stuff to work towards.

They're longtime closed test guilds. That's obviously a screenshot from the test servers, and they added shiny borders to their capes to test out how they look before putting them on live.
